Wedding for All Seasons: Fall Inspiration

The colors you choose for your wedding day set the style and tone for the entire event. Often times, we draw inspiration from our surroundings, especially the time of year. We’re kicking off our Wedding for All Seasons series to share color schemes, inspiration boards, flowers, invitations and much more to help capture the true spirit of the season. Through money-saving DIY projects, we’ll show you creative ways to turn inspiration into reality.

There is nothing more beautiful than an autumn wedding saturated with rich and earthy colors. We draw our inspiration from Pantone, a leading color system company that helps to set color trends for fashion, home decor and everything else in between. For fall 2011, Pantone showcases a rich purple hue paired with a neutral muted green for a perfect autumn color palette.

Don’t have a Pantone color book to reference the colors? No worries! Below are the Behr paint color equivalents, so head out to your local hardware store to grab some paint chips. The best part? They’re free!

  • Pantone Phlox: Behr Raspberry Mousse (SG-680)
  • Pantone Cedar:  Behr Boston Fern (410F-5)
  • Pantone Coffee Liqueur:  Behr Bitter Chocolate (790B-7)

  1. Paint chips are a fantastic idea. They’re so handy when it comes to figuring out exactly what you want- and showing vendors what you want too.
